Westerie started in Toledo in 2012 with a simple goal: help public agencies secure the land their projects need, the right way. Since then, we’ve acquired more than 20,000 parcels, expanded to offices in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Detroit, and earned prequalifications with ODOT, MDOT, and INDOT.

In January 2027, Martin + Wood Appraisal Group will join Westerie, bringing acquisition and appraisal together under one brand. For our clients, that means title research, appraisal, negotiations, relocation, and closings, all handled by our own people from start to finish.

Record of Service

  • City of New Albany

    Since 2022, Westerie has provided real estate services to the City of New Albany. Some of those being part of their local program, and many directly related to the Intel Development and City of New Albany International Business Park. These projects included turnkey acquisition services on more than 300 parcels and fair market values totaling more than $8M. Projects included the following: Mink Street, Jug Street, Clover Valley, Green Chapel Phase 1 and 2, Beech Road, and Babbitt Road. Additional projects for the City included Bevelhymer Road shared-use path, Miller Avenue, Morse Road Water Tower, Central College Road Waterline, Discover Center, Berk Easement, and Worthington Road Phase 2.

  • LCTID Intel Local Roads

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services to the Licking County Transportation Improvement District’s and their Intel Local Roads program related to the Intel Development. These infrastructure projects include road improvements to County Line Road, Clover Valley, Duncan Plains Central, Duncan Plains East, Duncan Plains West, and Green Chapel, totaling approximately 155 parcels.

  • NWWSD-Miltonville Waterline | Northwestern Water & Sewer District

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services for the District’s Miltonville Waterline project in Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Permanent and temporary easements are being acquired along W River Road from the existing water treatment plant on the south side to the east side of Roachton Road. These acquisitions involve approximately 30 property owners.

  • LUC-Raw Water Main | City of Toledo

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services for 150+ parcels on the City of Toledo’s Raw Water Main project in Lucas County. The purpose of the proposed project is to construct a new 72-inch raw water main to replace the original raw water main that was installed in 1940 and is nearing the end of its useful life. The raw water mains bring water from Lake Erie and the Low Service Pumping Station (LSPS) to the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant for treatment and distribution to about 500,000 customers in Toledo and the surrounding region.

  • LUC-Harvest Lane | City of Toledo

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services on the City of Toledo’s Harvest Lane project which consists of 83 parcels in Lucas County. The purpose of the project is to completely rebuild the unimproved street while adding sidewalks to support pedestrian safety around the new middle school.

  • CLE-SR 48-6.65 PID 121899 | City of Loveland

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services for 17 parcels on the City of Loveland’s Butterworth Sidewalk project in Clermont County. The purpose of the proposed project is to construct new sidewalk on SR 48, Butterworth Road, and Overlook Drive from north of O’Bannon Creek Bridge on SR 48 to Dorsey Lane located in the City of Loveland. The project length is 1/04 miles.

  • HAM-Compton Road PID 122989 | Colerain Township

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services for 30 parcels on Colerain’s Compton Road project in Hamilton County. The purpose of the project is to construct new sidewalk along Compton Road in Colerain Township, Hamilton County, between Colerain Avenue and Pippin Road. In addition to sidewalks, the project will also install new storm sewer structures and curb along the same route.

  • RIC-314-03.02 PID 117048 | ODOT | District 3

    Westerie is providing real estate acquisition and appraisal services for 71 parcels on ODOT District 3’s State Route 314 project in Richland County, Springfield, and Sharon Townships. The purpose of the proposed project is to construct edge reconstruction with asphalt, concrete overlay on SR 314 from 0.02 to 10.01 and includes drainage work, guardrail replacement, and pavement markings.

  • Leveraging its many years of landowner negotiations, Westerie has developed a unique skill set in assembling large tracts of land for public agencies (economic development) as well as corporate expansion projects.

  • A Westerie Project Manager is responsible for minimizing risks throughout the lifetime of the project and resolving issues of uncertainty, thus ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and in compliance with DOT procedures. Westerie ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures.

  • Communication is the cornerstone of our relocation services. By ensuring impacted residents, business owners, and tenants are aware of their rights and benefits throughout the process, we gain the highest levels of cooperation to facilitate a smooth transition.

  • Westerie supports appraisal requirements for full and partial acquisition and permanent and temporary easements for a variety of property types. Using our expansive professional network, we ensure an independent and objective valuation, calling on our experience for every appraisal assignment.

  • Our team works to avoid any land issues that may affect the location of your project by researching ownership, encumbrances and land rights; including permission to survey, acquisition phases; testifying at siting hearings and presentations at public input meetings.

  • Westerie handles negotiations with landowners for the acquisition of property in fee and/or as temporary or perpetual easements in accordance with all policies, procedures, and practices. Our experienced team has an outstanding success rate for amicable negotiations.

  • Property management services, including securing rental agreements, preparing required sale or demolition contracts and performing maintenance on land and structures to discourage vandalism and promote proper public appearance. Superior property management helps reduce project costs while positively affecting safety and public opinion.
